Lacey Still in Utah

Wow! I had some big aspirations to keep you updated with my life! For my failure I owe you an apology dear reader. (You know, whoever you are.) Since moving to Utah I have experienced some milestones. Among the best of them are:
  • Going a month without a job or any kind of income.
  • Adopting a pet from a shelter
  • Getting our first puppy
  • Driving in Snow
  • Working a full time/ grown up job
  • Supporting a spouse through school
  • Actually needing my renters insurance
  • Learning what it's like to Commute
  • Exploring the National Parks of Utah
  • Gaining enough weight to be embarrassed to go home
  • Enjoying the finer things in life...you know, food and vacation
  • Learning about the locals
  • Learning how to Clean/take pride in your residence
  • Paying the big bills for a nicer place
  • Learning to love coffee
  • Experiencing a true seasonal shift from spring to winter...otherwise known as fall
  • Getting "over" school work
  • Learning to let go
  • True Homesickness
  • Learning to share
Ah, I can already tell my lengthy list has bored you! Well let me just explain why I'm back. For those of you that don't know I am working (and by working I mean slowly chipping away) at a Master's degree in technical communication. I could spend several blogs trying to define this field to you, but for now it is irrelevant. One class I am taking right now, (and I do mean right now...I'm actually logged into my classroom on the next webpage) is all about social media as it relates to technical communication. I have been reading all about the benefits to utilizing blogs in your company.

I realized that as an individual I also gain some benefits...a link to my past. All this blog is for me is a way to document who I am at this particular point in my life. How I'm feeling, my maturity level, where I'm at. It's also a way to connect to others...a rather one sided connection, as I have no clue who you are. Maybe you are my sister (shout out! You have to guess which one I'm referring to...) or my Mom. Someone who really does care about me. Or maybe your a creeper, an acquaintance who is just curious to see how I turned out. Maybe you can't stand me, and your curiosity to see how terrible I'm doing is fueling your desire to read this. (In that case I will direct you to the bullet #10 as some ammo.) Or maybe no one is reading this...

Since I have changed so much in the last year here in Utah, I want to keep this record as a modern journal of how I am evolving as a person. These bullet points above will be broken out into different posts as I have time to discuss them. Some of them are silly, some serious, but they are all lessons that I'm glad I have had the opportunity to learn.
