Lacey in Utah

For those of you who do not know, I have recently undergone a very large change in my life. On Monday, (3 days ago) I moved to Utah.

Now let me go ahead and curb some of your questions:

  • No, we are not Mormon.
  • We moved here so that Andrew could work on his bachelor's of zoology.
  • Yes, it is random that he has a culinary degree, and is now getting a zoology degree.
  • We looked at schools in Utah because we fell in love with the mountains while on a high school trip to Salt Lake City.

.
So...now that your curiosity is satiated let me tell you all about how this move began. Andrew and I began dating around the time that our high school band took a trip to Salt Lake City. This was literally the first time in my life that I had ever seen mountains. In a city surrounded on three sides by mountains it was an impressive sight. As our relationship became more serious we talked about our hopes and dreams and the possibility of one day moving away from Texas.

Now don't get me wrong, I am a Texas girl through and through. But a part of growing up is moving on and gaining experiences for yourself. This is a big step for Andrew and I. We have always lived within an hour of our parents. If we ever needed anything they were a short car ride away. While we are both so grateful and love our parents dearly, we both knew that moving on is important to growing up. I know that this transition will be good for our maturity and our marriage. We both want an adventure before we truly settle down and have a family.

Some people may laugh, but Utah is our adventure.
