One of the things that I was incredibly jealous of during that trip, was all of the people who stayed later and had family come visit and tour Europe with them. I am so happy to say that although I still couldn't get my husband to join me, it just so happened that my parents were living in Germany while I was there.
For the first 9 days of my trip I was traveling with other Tech Comm graduate students to various sites and industry visits. It was an experience that I was very excited about. I was actually able to blog about my expectations in our Tech Comm program's blog. (You can read it here.) I had an amazing time staying with my host Felicitas. We actually had a lot in common, and it was a great introduction to Germany.

My roommate for the week! Felicitas
We had industry visits to various companies in Germany. I think the most memorable was when we went to Diamler (they make Mercedes) and got to peek at the new S class documentation. AMAZING to see how they are now putting the user manuals on the screens in the actual car. Tech Comm is evolving and changing, and it was great to visit with all of the companies that welcomed us with open arms!
We ended our school trip in Munich, and my Mom and Dad joined me there! From there we went to various spots along the Romantic Road in Germany. It was so awesome to hang out with my parents in Europe. The last time we did this was my Senior year when we visited London. I have such a unique relationship with my parents, as the youngest of 4 with 4 years between me and my closest sibling, I often joke they just gave up with me and became my friend.

I think this was the only picture we got of the three of us.
I plan to give you more detail about each spot, but here is an overview of all of the places we went to.
